55 Avoca Street, South Yarra – New Tenant Information Sheet
The management committee and residents would like to welcome you to 55 Avoca Street. Our building is in one of Melbourne’s most liveable and prime locations.
We would like you to know about the following housekeeping matters.
Rubbish, Recycling and Green Waste
Rubbish is collected on Tuesday morning every week. Please dispose of your domestic rubbish thoughtfully and ensure that liquids or other waste are not spilt on carpets or in the downstairs passageway.
Recycling bins are provided and recycling collections occur each fortnight, again on Tuesday morning. The same applies to green waste.
Please tidy away your own recycling and fold cardboard boxes so they can be placed in the recycling bins.
Under no circumstances leave large items in the bin area for disposal. It is your responsibility to dispose of household goods, fridges, beds and so on.
Under no circumstances, unless the City of Stonnington has advised you of a hard waste pick up twice yearly, should you leave items on the nature strip. Stonnington have advised that they will prosecute tenants who try to dispose of household items in this way.
Please clear up your own junk mail. Do not leave it in the entrance way as your neighbours will have to clear up your mess.
Security and Safety
Please be considerate of other residents, particularly when entering the apartment building late at night. Avoid using washing machines and driers after 10pm.
Residential Property Noise
State and local government laws require that residential noise is minimised during the night:
- Monday to Thursday: 10pm to 7am
- Friday: 11pm to 7am
- Saturday and public holidays: 11pm to 9am
- Sunday: 10pm to 9am
Please also take care of the fixtures and fittings in the public areas of the building.
The building has a CCTV system as there have been burglaries of apartments and vandalism and break-ins to cars in the car park. You must always ensure that gates are closed and locked behind you.
Please do not bring e-scooters into the building because of the fire risk from batteries.
Thank you for taking care.
